Ancient Chocolate Beer Riddle (From a Laughing Heart)

Background information:  The home school mom and her 12-year-old son were studying the Mayas.  The conversation began with the mom presenting a good-natured riddle to her son.

Mom, giddy with excitement:  “Guess what Mayan drink your curriculum suggests we drink today?”

Son:  “Corn beer?”

(Insert silence here.)

Mom:  “No, hot chocolate.”

And the mom was thinking Starbucks, not the local bar.

Disclaimer:  Any resemblance to us persons real or imaginary is purely coincidental.  And in all fairness, the  educational video this mom and son watched did explain that Mayan kings drank a special beer made from corn before certain ceremonies.  And finally, I did ask the boy’s permission before posting.
